Curiosity first
Every session opens with a story — a spark to ignite questions. Curiosity is the best teacher.
Our story
Inspired by one of the world's earliest centres of learning, Taxila is a new kind of room for hands-on AI.

01The name
Over two thousand years ago, Takshashila (known to the Greeks as Taxila) was one of the earliest universities in the world. It drew scholars from across Asia to study medicine, mathematics, astronomy, and philosophy.
Learning there was personal — small groups, expert mentors, hands-on practice. People didn't only memorise. They questioned, debated, and created.
The name is a tribute to that spirit: meaningful learning happens through exploration, not only instruction.

02Philosophy
Every session opens with a story — a spark to ignite questions. Curiosity is the best teacher.
Real projects, real tools, real outcomes. Practice leads. Theory follows.
Intimate sessions where everyone has a voice. Attention, and room to collaborate.
Not a subject to memorise. A way to do the things you already care about.
Privacy first. Age-appropriate tools. Clear thinking about limits and ethics.
Guests who use AI in their own work visit regularly. Projects stay tied to life outside the room.

03Founder
Sunny is based in Markham. His background is in technology and education, and he has built several AI startups.
Taxila is his answer to a simple idea: AI literacy will matter to the next generation the way reading and writing mattered to the last. The room should feel like a quiet studio — hands-on, curious, and connected to real work.
Safety and trust
All Taxila instructors have Vulnerable Sector Checks. We use age-appropriate tools, prioritise privacy, and require consent for any data collection. Sessions take place in public library makerspaces — welcoming, accessible, and secure.
Pilot programs in library makerspaces across Markham and the GTA. Register to hear when rooms and times are set.
